I really like them and think they re funny. The blue leg hermit crab clibanarius tricolor features characteristic blue legs poking out of their shell. Especially the dwarf variaty that doesn t get bigger than 1 inch but also the electric blue hermit with a maximum size of 2 inches.
They are excellent scavengers and tank cleaners that can help control algae and detritus and aerate sandy substrate. Though an efficient scavenger and due to its small size the dwarf blue leg hermit crabs should be kept in groups for larger aquarium systems. Large males can barely reach 1 inch long 2 5 cm and as the name implies they have blue legs.
Easy drip acclimation is highly recommended temperament. Up to 2 5cm 1 diet. I been trying to research them a lot but haven t found good information on tank size per crab.
Omnivore carnivore detritus and will scavenge temperament. I didnt plan on adding any fish just hermit crabs. It is a small crab.
They are scavengers and excellent algae eaters. The blue leg hermit crab has blue legs with red banding. Up to 1 2 inch.

Supplement the diet of the dwarf blue leg hermit crab with dried seaweed if insufficient algae are present. There are about 500 known species of the hermit crab and the blue legged hermit crab is one of them.
