May 23 very good hatch on the goshiki and hi utsuri yesterday the kujaku seem to be the only batch that does not seem to have hatched in large numbers but they were looking good upto sunday eve so hope they are staying down on the bottom of the ponds. The first spawnings we did this season have now been moved out to their summer growing ponds they are about 1inch and all from shiro utsuri and showa breedings unfortunately we could not send sell any of these as fry due to the delivery restrictions but it might mean we have lots available in the autumn. Koi fry showing colours i m no expert but how i understand it some koi are black skinned for example showa shiro utsuri hi utsuri etc and some are white skinned for example kohaku sanke there are so many varieties and if the fry are from a flock spawn it s anyone s guess how they finish if they change at all.
