These are plecos that will do little to clean up algae but earn their keep simply because they look so good. Im going to get a betta siamese fighting fish for my birthday and if i forget to clean its tank one day i dont want it to die so i was wondering if a hifin spotted pleco would be able to live in the same tank with a betta. This is a strong fish that eats huge amounts of algae.

A more specific identification would be helpful.
