Juvenile Queen Angel
The small juvenile will contain the juvenile colorations or may be color shifting to a young adult while the medium will be a sub adult and the large will be in adult coloration.
Juvenile queen angel. The queen angelfish may live up to 15 years in the wild and reach up to 45 centimeters 17 inches in length. Queen angelfish are about three and a half pounds. Size the adult blue can obtain sizes up to 18 inches 45 cm.
Juvenile queen angelfish feed primarily on filamentous algae but also clean other fishes of crustacean parasites. The queen angelfish is haremic with males defending a territory occupied by two to four females. The bars on the juvenile blue angel tend to be straighter than those of the juvenile queen angel.
The colors of the juvenile fish help them to blend in with the reefs. As juveniles grow their color gradually changes from the dark blues of youth to the blues greens and yellows of the adults.
