Tropical Fish Tetras
Like other types of tetra embers are shoaling fish.
Tropical fish tetras. Mixed comets goldfish. They also like relatively neutral waters with a hardness rating between 5 and 17 dgh. Tetras are a fabulous family of tropical fish and are arguably the most kept type of tropical fish in the aquarium hobby.
Since it is a schooling fish it is best to keep the bleeding heart tetra in schools of four to six species. 2 5 inches 6 5 cm. Four or five are ideal to place in an aquarium when it is first set up.
In terms of care ember tetras are a great fish for beginners. Tetras come from africa central america and south america belonging to the biological family characidae and to its former subfamilies alestidae the african tetras and lebiasinidae the characidae are distinguished from other fish by the presence of a small adipose fin between the dorsal and caudal fins. They are generally extraordinarily hardy and come in a wide range of colours and sizes.
With a red body a black dorsal fin with white edges and a black blotch behind the eye it is an attractive fish. They are generally unfussy and do well in standard tropical water conditions. Tropical inverts crabs.
Tropical fish rasboras. Tetra is the common name of many small freshwater characiform fishes. Other tetra fish will make good tankmates as will rasboras and danios.
Tropical fish tetras filter by. Serpae tetras are exceptionally hardy and resilient fish. Embers do best in warm temperatures between 73 and 84 degrees.
Tropical fish tetras. They come from the same tropical basins of south america as the other two species mentioned above and reach up to 1 5 inches in length. Neon tetra fish relatives of the cardinal tetra these iconic species have been in the aquarium of pretty much every fish keeper in the world.
